Welcome to North Canterbury's newest Salsa and Latin Dance school. We offer adult Latin dance classes in Rangiora and Christchurch.

Con and Anita, the founders of Con Caruso Latin Dance, have a shared passion for Latin dancing that they would like to share with others and inspire more people to become interested in the captivating and exciting dances that originated from Latin America.
Our Philosophy & Pledge to you
Con and Anita believe in treating dancers with dignity and respect, and an understanding that everybody's dance journey is unique. We act with integrity and professionalism. We do not act territorially over our students and we embrace and respect all styles of dancing. We believe the more dancing styles you try the more it will help you find who you really are as a dancer.

Partner dancing at it's heart is about connection, and the Latin dance community needs to stay connected and supportive of one another to thrive. We aim for a welcoming environment and communicating the joy of dance in our classes. We believe in inspiring others by leading by example and being good natured and considerate to our students needs.
Salsa - Beginners Classes
Location: Trinity Methodist Church, Rangiora
Duration: 6 week Block course
This introductory course run over 6 weeks is designed for people who have never danced Salsa before. No dance experience or partner is necessary. You will learn all the basics from the ground up, and we will get you grooving on the dance floor in no time.
Salsa dancing is a great way to build confidence, exercise the body, and enjoy the Latin rhythms from South America.​

Salsa - Skills & Drills Classes
Location: Evolve Studios, Christchurch
Weekly classes introduce new content
If you want to perfect your dancing and knowledge of "L.A" style salsa then these workshop classes are a perfect match for you. They involve a deep dive into the On 1 Salsa style that we has been trained in across Australasia. The classes involve learning fun social dance combinations along with drills and attention to detail. Learn secrets and tips that our instructors gained from intense overseas training!

Salsa - Improvers & Intermediate
Location: Trinity Methodist Church, Rangiora
Can be joined at any time.
​If you have successfully completed our beginners course and are ready for the next challenge then this is the class for you. This class builds and extends on the fundamental principles of our beginners course. We aim to improve your social dance repertoire and confidence. This class covers a variety of abilities, however our attentive instructors provide an invigorating and unique learning experience for everyone.

Cost: $15 for 1.0 hr class, or discount with concession card.
Introduction to Latin American
Location: To be confirmed
Duration: 6 week Block course
This introductory course run over 6 weeks is designed for people who would like to explore the Latin American dance style that has been developed and standardised in Ballrooms internationally. We offer 6 weeks block courses in the Rumba and the Cha Cha Cha. These styles are as you would see on TV "Dancing with the Stars". They stand out with the ​use of straight leg action, expressive movements, poise and elegance.

Private Lessons & Coaching
We are available for private lessons in Salsa and Latin American.
Alongside private lessons in social dancing, Con has experience with Salsa performance teams, competitive couples, and with choreography.

NZ Salsa Congress

Con and Anita had a thoroughly enjoyable time at the recent 2025 NZ Salsa Congress.
